Vanuatu Maritime Safety Authority Small Boat Safety Training

On July 10, 2025, VMSA held small boat safety training for the small boat operators of Nikaura Village, Epi Island. This training is part of the VMSA Small Boat Safety Program for small boat owners and operators across Vanuatu. This week, VMSA is on Epi Island. The training covers small boat safety rules and regulations, safe boat operation, basic survival at sea, mechanical skills, and safety tips for operators. About 30 participants attended the training. Those who completed the training received their small boat operator license, certifying their ability to operate a small boat. VMSA also donated free life jackets to small boat operators, funded by the Government of Vanuatu.
